Gongs have been used for thousands of years as instruments of transformation. The goal of Gongs, Bells and Bowls is to help create a single pointed focus of the mind. This is consistent with a practice of mindfulness as one seeks to non-judgmentally observe the thoughts and feelings of the present moment. The gong alone is an amazingly powerful instrument to do this and the other sounds, like Tibetan and crystal bowls, bells and cymbals provide variations that help to charm the mind into focus on the ’now’ moment.
